Release history and updates for SichboPVR.

Releases are rolled out in either testing or stable form. You can receive test builds under Setup > Check for update > enable test builds, or you can download them directly here. Stable releases always have a '0' revision number on the end (eg 4.0.1.0) whilst testing builds always have a non-zero revision (4.0.1.2)

4.0.26.0 (2026-10-06)

• Fixed a stability issue when receiving malformed programme guide data from broadcasters.

4.0.25.0 (2026-10-04)

• Added a workaround for malformed/repeated audio timestamps transmitted by a couple of UK satellite TV stations, which previously resulted in dropped audio packets.
• Added support for waking S0 low-power idle (aka "Modern Standby") PCs for recordings and guide updates. If your PC uses Modern Standby and currently misses recordings, head on over to https://modernwakeup.com and install my kernel driver (it's free for sichbopvr supporters).
• Refined the audio mixer to reduce occasional pops, clicks, and startup stuttering. Improved handling of brief gaps, synchronization, sample mixing, clipping, and output-device starvation.
• Improved ATSC in-band guide handling when multiple configured channels share the same broadcast source ID.
• Improved generation of DVB event metadata for recordings containing long descriptions, credits, or other extended programme information.
• Fixed a service cleanup race that could leave a tuner stream active after a channel-view request was cancelled.
• Improved the behaviour of additional playback windows. Muted secondary windows can open on top without forcing independently launched windows to remain always-on-top.

• Added an option to control how SichboPVR behaves when an EPG show title changes for a recording. You can configure it to "Don't record" (default), "Record with the new title" or "Record with the original title" under Setup > Channels & Users > Recording & Server Options.
• Fixed a problem with ATSC on Linux.
• Fixed a problem with the WakeOnLAN networking feature.
• Fixed some Finnish DVB-T2 stations not starting correctly.
• Fixed an issue with DVB subtitles sometimes not appearing at the right moment.

• Fixed an intermittent problem with the recording service crashing.

4.0.22.0 (2025-06-09)

• This release fixes a problem with Windows 7 caused by Google's BoringSSL library dropping support for it.
• Improved audio/video sync accuracy.
• Channel views can now also automatically recover when they've been interrupted by other TV tuner tasks.
• Added a workaround for slightly changing episode IDs, which are causing an "EPG Changed" status from a broadcaster.
• Fixed a problem with 4.0.21.0 play/pause on video toggle, it's also optional under Setup > Colours & UI > Tweaks.

4.0.20.0 (2024-12-11)

• This release fixes a loading issue that has been reported by a few people on Windows 11 from a recent Windows Update.

• Addresses a few stability issues identified in the 4.0.18 release for both Windows and Linux platforms.

4.0.18.0 (2024-11-06)

• Thanks to Anthony for figuring out an intermittent packet loss issue when the PC is running under resource strain.

• There's finally a proper user guide pdf that people can download or print over at sichbopvr.com/manual. It's available in only a handful of languages for the time being because it's a lot of work to do each. Please let me know if you'd like to see your language added so I can gauge demand.

• You can now more easily toggle OpenGL mode underneath Setup > UI > Tweaks. Some newer NVidia drivers are having a problem with my D3D11 video processing engine it seems, so I'll need to save up for a card someday. In the meantime, feel free to give OpenGL a try if your video isn't smooth.

• Improved video smoothness for Direct3D 11 users.

• Added a new Ubuntu 24.04 release pipeline. Thanks to Laurent for his help with testing.

• Fixed a problem with HDHomeRun devices sometimes losing channel info resulting in an "off air" message.

• Watch/record now changes the station in the window that you set the watch/record in, assuming it's still open, otherwise the main window.

• Fixes an issue where progress was not saved when watching videos.

• You can now use "quotes" when searching in the guide.

• Fixes a few other issues that have come up since the last release.

4.0.17.0 (2023-12-05)

• Setup screen refinements.

• You can now set custom audio levels (+/- gain) on certain TV stations under the mixer > audio tab.

• You can also tweak server settings such as priodic EPG and channel scan intervals, preferred tuners for recording, and other things under setup > channels & users > server options.

• Subtitles can be customised underneath the mixer > video tab, or setup > colors & UI > tweaks.

• Other general UI refinements.

• Fixes a couple of things that came up under the 4.0.16.0 release.
